Eczacıbaşı Grows in Russia with Sacmi

The VitrA Santehnika sanitaryware production plant, part of the Eczacıbaşı Group, recently began manufacturing with a high-pressure AVM casting system. Sacmi had previously supplied systems for the drying, glazing, and firing lines at VitrA’s Russian plant, inaugurated in May 2014. That same plant has now been equipped with a casting cell consisting of two single-mold AVM 150 casting machines for complex WCs, made using seven-part resin molds.
The casting cell reportedly has a high level of automation because of the robot that serves the casting machines. The latter distributes adhesive for application of the rims, executes piece de-molding, handles the WCs at the finishing and storage stations and overturns them when necessary. Fast, independent mold changeovers can reportedly be carried out on one of the two machines without having to shut down the other casting unit.
