NordCeram has recently invested in a new production line for its Bremerhaven, Germany, plant. The production line will enable the manufacturing of 45 x 90 cm and other large tile formats—sizes that reportedly have not previously been produced on the German market. The new production line features the Sacmi PH 6500, which, with an inter-column clearance of 2,450 mm and 6,500 tons of pressing force, is reportedly the biggest press on the German market.

Sacmi has also supplied a 19.7-m-long, five-channel ECP285 dryer, allowing the manufacturer to make larger, higher-quality technical and glazed porcelain tiles. The in-line press and horizontal dryer ensure increased productivity, allowing the company to take full advantage of the synergies among the various installed lines and thus provide product mixes that always comply with the highest quality standards. In addition, energy consumption (i.e., electricity for the press, gas for the dryer) has been reduced significantly.
