Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. (AGC) recently announced that, as of October 1, its Glass company will follow a new structure based on two business categories: Building & Industrial general division and Automotive General division. This reorganization is intended to make each business better able to meet market trends amid drastic changes in its business environment.
In addition, as of October 1, several changes in assignment of the company’s executive officers will become effective. Marehisa Ishiko, currently senior executive officer and president of Glass company, will become senior executive officer, president of Glass company and GM of Automotive General Division, Glass company.
Jean-François Heris, currently senior executive officer, Regional president of Europe, Glass company; and president and CEO of AGC Glass Europe, will assume the role of senior executive officer, GM of Building & Industrial General Division, Glass company; and president and CEO of AGC Glass Europe.
Yasumasa Nakao will become senior executive officer, GM of Technology General Division, Glass company.
Shinji Miyaji will fill the role of executive officer, GM of Strategy Office, Glass company; and president and CEO of AGC Glass North America.
Kimikazu Ichikawa will become executive officer, Deputy GM of Building & Industrial General Division, Glass company; and GM of Japan/Asia Pacific Division, Building & Industrial General division, Glass company.
Kihachiro Okamoto will be named executive officer, Deputy GM of Automotive General division, Glass company.
